The Town Clerk is the central information office for the town. This office is responsible for receiving and/or distributing all documents submitted.  The clerk’s office is also where the following passes/permits and licenses are issued: marriage, hunting, fishing, dog, handicapped parking, etc.

Notary Services

The Town Clerk’s Office has a Notary.  This service is free of charge.  Please read the following carefully:

  • Notary service is on a first-come, first-served basis.  The Town Clerk or staff reserves the right to decline notary services at their discretion.
  • All persons signing are required to provide a current, government-issued photo ID that contains a signature.
  • Documents need to be filled out entirely except for the signature. Staff cannot certify authenticity of a document, certify copies, or provide legal advice or counseling regarding documents.
  • If witnesses are required for the document, it is the responsibility of the signer to supply them.  Town Hall will not provide witnesses.
  • Documents must be written in English, and the person seeking notarization must be able to communicate directly with the staff notarizing the document.  Service will only be provided in English.
  • Notary Service is not available for power of attorney, mortgage documents, deeds, wills, living wills, living trusts.  These types of documents can require specialized knowledge and are beyond the scope of this service.
